Farm Twinning
You know how sometimes you’re introduced to a stranger and it turns out that you used to live in the same town, or their Dad was your brother’s Maths teacher, and your response is,
‘it’s a small world’...
Well, we want to make a small world with more interpersonal connections. After all, this is what builds community and strong communities are more resilient than individuals trying to make a go of it alone.
In the UK farmers have good access to extension services and learning resources, through organisations such as Farm Carbon Toolkit, but it’s just not the same in Tanzania. We provide fact based education, encourage knowledge sharing and have a demonstration plot where we can run trials and show what can be done.
By making a donation of £120 annually, you can twin your farm with a Tanzanian farming family. We’ll provide you with a photo of them, and them with one of you, and each year ask you both to share what you’re doing to become a more climate change resilient producer of food.
We’ll also send you a sticker for your tractor/ car/ kitchen window and the right to use our ‘Ask me how I’m Empowering the Future’ logo on any paperwork or publicity you use to promote your own farm business.
If you’re up for standing shoulder to shoulder (metaphorically!) with the agricultural community on a continent already massively impacted by the consequences of climate change, send us an email to foetfcharity@gmail.com with a photo of you (and your family if you want) looking ‘farmy’ and click the ‘Donate’ button to make your contribution.
We, and they, thank you sincerely for expressing your care through action.
Our first family to twin their farm are the Turners. They breed sheep and cattle for beef organically and are twinned with Magreth and her daughter Brandina.
Malia from Lamaiti has been twinned with Maisie and Jonathan - they grow lovely organic fruit and vegetables
Will it be you who twins with Janeth and Jemma???
